Good to know
Does Sona work without an internet connection?
Yes. Speech recognition runs entirely on your phone, so recording and transcribing never need a connection. The AI organizing step is optional — with it off, an on-device rule engine still pulls out dates, amounts and categories.
Is my voice recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Audio never leaves your device. Only transcribed text is sent when cloud organizing is enabled, and you can switch that off at any time in Settings.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Sona has no account system and no server of its own. Your notes are stored locally, and uninstalling the app removes them.
How much does it cost?
Sona is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Which languages does it support?
The interface follows your device language — Chinese on Chinese-language devices, English everywhere else.
Why is the first voice note a download?
The speech recognition model is fetched the first time you use your voice rather than shipped inside the app, which keeps the install small. Once it is on your phone, everything runs offline.
